Bagpipes festival Na Bodega

In 2016, the event committee was asked to organize the first bagpipes festival in Sallèles-d’Aude. To make it happen, many inhabitants, shopkeepers, council workers and councillors had to work hand in hand. But what is it exactly? It is a two-day festival on the theme of bagpipes and their universe. The goal is to promote their local version: the boudègue.

In Occitan, Na Bodega means Lady Boudègue. This festival wouldn't exist without the involvement of Sallèles-d’Aude’s inhabitants, the passion of musicians and stringed instrument makers, the councillors’ determination to create a cultural event promoting our heritage, and the curiosity of the people that came to listen, participate and immerse themselves in the cultural history of this instrument.
